Fire striker FS 16 Thor's hammer

Hand forged fire striker made from mild steel and high carbon tool steel У10А . High carbon tool steel У10А similar 1095 steel. All parts of fire striker are joined together by soldering. On one side of fire striker mark of blacksmith. Working part of fire striker water quenched without tempering. Surface oxidized and lubricated with mixture of beeswax and linseed oil. Thor's hammer Mjölnir (from Old Norse Mjǫllnir) is mentioned in many historical sources. In Norse mythology, represented both as a devastating weapon and as a divine instrument to provide blessings. Thor and his hammer are depicted on various objects from archaeological excavations. In the Viking Age, Thor's hammer was usually worn as a pendant.
